Thanks to all for the prayers and well wishes that have followed us through this process! It has been an exciting, exhausting, joyful, anxious, laughter-filled, and tear-stained 12 hours. However, at the end of it all, we are a family of four, and Sebastian Yi-De is with us.
With great apologies, we are going to force you, the loyal community of support, I just thanked above (and seriously, you guys rock for the emailed stories and well wishes sent regularly our way and the pull that some or all of you have with the stomach gods... Heather's run-in with the mystery meat/tof-iken last night did NOT result in an allergy attack) to wait for the blow-by-blow description of the day until our tomorrow. At the moment, I can again cite the "exhausting" part of the 12 hours (add emotionally draining in there too).
However, I can report that Jie-Jie, Di-Di, and Ma-Ma are all fast asleep. Sebastian has been well fed and seems pretty OK with his current entourage after some early moments that were a bit touch-and-go. The grandparents have decided to keep him (not that any different decision was ever being seriously considered ;-) ). Elli is wicked excited (channeling my years in Philly/NJ area for that phrase) about having her little brother and did great for the first few hours of playtime/GTKY time. And he is most definitely my son for now and forevermore. I love you, little guy.
So, more details tomorrow. However, I may be tired, but I am not cruel. Here are some pictures to tide you over!
Thank you for not being cruel!! He is absolutely perfect! And Elli looks like she's taking on Big Sister duty very well! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteSo overjoyed. Rest up and enjoy your time together as a family of 4. The storytelling can unfold over time (but thank you for the photos!). Love love love. Sarah
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you...he is perfect..praying and sending all of you our best wishes.....please get some rest...
ReplyDeleteWe are so, so excited for you guys! Thank you for tiding us over with the pictures (I may have broken the company prohibition on non-work-related websites to check this morning!). Sebastian is adorable and I'm so glad he's finally in your arms after all this waiting. Sending prayers for the rest of your trip!
ReplyDeleteMy heart is bursting with joy for you and your family, Heather! Prayers for a smooth transition and safe journey home.
